Frankfurt Fashion Week opens digital FFW STUDIO: over 200 international speakers, inspiring brand experiences, virtual showcases and live acts will be shedding light on the future-relevant topics of sustainability and digitisation. More than 72 hours of digital, curated fashion content spanning five days – to reform the future.

Frankfurt am Main, 5 July 2021.
“The FFW STUDIO is now open! From today, all eyes of the of the international fashion industry will be on our wonderful city of Frankfurt. What a special day! Everyone involved has done an outstanding job,” said Frankfurt’s Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann at today’s FFW STUDIO opening conference. Together with Anita Tillmann, Managing Partner of the Premium Group and Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt, Frankfurt’s Lord Mayor and the Chairman of the Board of Messe Frankfurt gave the starting signal for more than 72 hours of curated fashion content in a press briefing with journalist Sina Mainitz. The overall mood was also somewhat sentimental: “Just over a year ago, we announced that we would be establishing the new Frankfurt Fashion Week. Back then, none of us would have thought that we would have to postpone the premiere to January 2022 because of the global COVID-19 pandemic.” So Feldmann is all the more delighted that the Frankfurt Fashion Week team has initiated the FFW STUDIO as a response to this: “This progressive and forward-looking digital format shows the huge potential that we have for a Fashion Week here in Frankfurt after the pandemic.”

Up to and including Friday, 9 July 2021 and within the categories Tradeshows, Conferences, Game Changers and Beyond FFW, the FFW STUDIO will be bringing together global and multinational partners in Frankfurt am Main over a total of five days – from the United Nations Office for Partnerships, which makes the 17 Sustainable Development Goals more visible for companies, institutions, organisations and society, and the EU New Bauhaus Initiative to opinion leaders like Conscious Fashion Campaign, Fashion for Good and Global Fashion Agenda. In the FFW STUDIO, market players like Messe Frankfurt, Pitti Uomo and Premium Group will be engaging in a dialogue, joined by the leading fashion associations British Fashion Council, Council of Fashion Designers of America, Fashion Council Germany and Moda Italiana. Global corporations such as H&M, Jil Sander, LVMH, MCM, MyTheresa, Puma and PwC will also be represented, as well as major national and international media companies ranging from Burda and Condé Nast to the Deutscher Fachverlag and WWD.

Relevant, inspiring, future-oriented – FFW STUDIO
“Even in its digital-only format, our aspiration is radically progressive. We are accelerating the transformation of the fashion and creative sectors into modern, resource-efficient industries,” says Detlef Braun, adding: “That is also our claim – “Reform the Future”. And we aim to do this on a global scale. We want Frankfurt Fashion Week to play an active role in finding solutions to macrosocial challenges. Our interpretation of a new Fashion Week is a multidimensional ecosystem that represents the entire value chain – in one place and at one time.”

“I am proud of what the team behind Frankfurt Fashion Week has achieved in the past few months. Messe Frankfurt and the Premium Group are the perfect match and, together with stakeholders from the entire industry, we are achieving something that is truly unique: in the FFW STUDIO, relevant players and creative minds from retail and manufacturing, leading media companies, agencies, international associations, initiatives and numerous partners and sponsors are turning our vision of the future of the fashion industry into a digital reality. From conferences and workshops to brand experiences and virtual showcases to music acts – the FFW STUDIO is an epicentre for fashion, sustainability and digitisation. Relevant, inspiring, future-oriented,” said Anita Tillmann.
