AAAREA: RUNWAY B(EAUTIFUL)-EBENE, HELMUT FRICKE FASHION & TRANSFORMING FRANKFURT FASHION BY CHRISTINE FEHRENBACH

The B-level of the Hauptwache – Frankfurt's traffic hub at the entrance to the Zeil – was transformed into a catwalk of a special kind. On columns 70 fashion photographs were installed on a large scale. Partners of the AAAREA project are the Professional Association of Freelance Photographers and Film Designers (BFF), the Association of Photographers (AOP) and the Frankfurt Transport Authority (VGF). At several locations in the city, the exhibition Helmut Fricke FASHION presented a retrospective of works by the Frankfurt photographer spanning four decades. In addition, Transforming Frankfurt Fashion – The Frankfurt Fashion & Design Forum showed exhibits by local designers and artists who deal with sustainable fashion.

Even more fashion in the city: Numerous official side events spread the fashion vibe in the city and invited fashion enthusiasts to store, inspire and network. Highlights were the runway shows of the Frankfurt Fashion Lounge, among others with the labels Tomaszewski and WeDress, the presentation of Quartier Frau with a preview of the new season, the exhibition at the Leica Galerie Frankfurt with photographs by renowned fashion photographers Enrique Badulescu, Emanuele Scorcelletti and Holger Sà as well as Leonid Matthias Fashion exhibition with fashion and embroidery art.
